Crystal also works on assignments for various media. She has been a regular contributor for VICE, producing and filming 20+ news packages for VICE News Tonight. Reporting on the field from Hong Kong, Taiwan and London, she has demonstrated ability in securing characters with potential conflicts and unfolding news stories in a timely manner. Her camera work was nominated for an award in the 2020 Emmys.
She also filmed for Quartz Because China documentary series. The series won the 2020 Webby Awards, News & Politics (Video Series & Channels).
