This Week is a weekly current affairs programme in Hong Kong. I produced a 5-minute segment that discusses a proposal to remove the city’s century-old tramline.

Retired government planner Sit Kwok-keung proposed an idea to ease congestion in Hong Kong's Central district. It involved the removal of the city's historic tramline which laid in the middle of the area. Without doubt his proposal stirred up controversy. He also claimed that taking the MTR was a faster way to travel as opposed to trams. I conducted an experiment in my segment to test his statement out.

MORE TO KNOW

On the flip side, the Hong Kong Institute of Planners and Civic Exchange have jointly come up with an alternative solution. Instead of removing the tramline, they want to remove the vehicles, turning the area into a tram-and-pedestrian-only zone.
